What is defensive driving?
Defensive driving is being aware of your driving surroundings, trying to anticipate what possible scenarios can occur, responding safely and staying alive. Defensive Driving is the ability to get from Point A to Point B safely by concentrating on not only one’s driving responsibilities but also having the ability to correctly handle other motorist’s mistakes.
2 hour in-car lesson with Defensive Driving Expert
This course has helped many errant drivers who have been involved in one or more collisions and / or have received citations. Our Driving Analyst will work one-on-one with the student by:
- Reviewing all collisions and citations
- Evaluating student’s current driving performance
- Giving a short commentary driving lesson, optional
- Introduction to Smith System Defensive Driving techniques
- Assisting student in developing proper defensive driving skills and attitude
Certificate & insurance discount
The Driver Analyst will provide student with a thorough, written evaluation of driver performance. Certificate of completion will be issued. Some insurance companies will offer a premium discount. Please check with your carrier for eligibility.

Corporate defensive driving
We offer both Classroom and In-Car Corporate Training with our Defensive Driving Experts. Training will be customized for your industry and specific employee needs. Training can be provided at your location. Employees will receive a Certificate of Completion for their file. Health & Safety
At Bay Area Driving School, the health and safety of our customers and community is our first priority. Many changes have transpired since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Student not allowed to take lesson if they ill or experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms (i.e. sore throat, cough, fever, body aches, etc.).
- Vehicle’s high touch points will be disinfected between lessons.
- Hand sanitizer always available in training vehicles.
- Face mask are optional, per instructor’s discretion.
