Adult In-Car Training
Learn to drive safely,
with confidence and precision™
Returning Students
Our driving instructors are skilled professionals who are deeply committed to traffic safety. At Bay Area Driving School, you’ll have a positive and enjoyable learning experience. Lessons are available Monday through Saturday, from 8:00am – 8:00pm. It has been argued that driving is one of the most crucial skills that a person can possess in his or her lifetime. With top-notch Driver’s Education and Driver’s Training, we can make a difference and assist in minimizing traffic collisions.
Beginners
Students with minimal or no driving experience will start with a brief demonstration drive and an introduction to vehicle controls. The initial lesson typically includes vehicle handling, making left and right turns, visual search techniques, interpreting intersections, smooth stopping, an introduction to light traffic, and curb parking. You will receive a written evaluation of your driving performance along with an estimate of any additional training needed. We also specialize in working with nervous adults.
Remedial lesson
We assist many drivers who have a valid driver’s license but have not driven for a period of time. Our remedial training is designed to refresh your skills and boost your confidence as you return to driving.
DMV review
For those who are already familiar with basic driving skills may want to focus on preparing to pass the DMV road test. This lesson is devoted entirely to the DMV road test preparation. It is intended for students who have an upcoming test and want to refine their skills to increase their chances of passing. During this session, students will learn about DMV procedures, the rating system, common automatic failures, and additional tips for passing the test at their local DMV.

Health and safety
At Bay Area Driving School, the health and safety of our customers and community are our top priorities. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented several changes:
- Students who are ill or experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms (e.g., sore throat, cough, fever, body aches) are not permitted to take lessons.
- High-touch surfaces in the vehicle will be disinfected between lessons.
- Hand sanitizer is always available in our training vehicles.
- Face masks are optional and at the instructor’s discretion.
Piggyback system / semi-private lessons
Some of our instructors use the popular industry piggyback system. This means that after the first student’s lesson, we will pick up the next student before dropping off the first one. If the next student has no driving experience, the instructor will perform a demonstration drive back to the drop-off location of the first student. The time spent outside of the piggyback arrangement will be a completely private lesson. If you prefer a fully private lesson, please let the office know when scheduling. Parents and spouses are not permitted to ride along.
